Reminding users to be safe on their computers is an arduous task. We try to make them remember acronyms in the hope they know what to do to ensure their internet safety.

Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) has organised an Infocomm Security Awareness campaign, mainly targeted to civil servants, using the acronym FASTEN UP! Singapore has a tendency of creating fancy acronyms for big words and what’s another acronym to remember?

Managed by SingCert, FASTEN UP! stands for:

• F – Firewall
• A – Antivirus
• S – Scams
• ten (no meaning)
• U – Update
• P – Password
